and an English-only proofreader.

Who am I?
I am a Chartered Linguist (Translator) (CL) in the Chartered Institute of Linguists
(CIoL) and a Qualified Member (MITI) in German and French to English (UK) of the
Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) here in the UK. I have been granted
ISO 17100:2015 Qualified Status by the ITI.
I work in accordance with the ITI’s Code of Professional Conduct and carry Professional
Indemnity Insurance (PII).
Where was I educated?
I was awarded an MA with distinction (Translation Studies, 2005) from the University
of Hull having previously studied at Oxford University (PGCE, 1996) and UWE (BA Honours
in Modern Languages in French and German, 1995).
What is my translation background?
I have worked as a freelance translator and proofreader of general and financial
texts since 2005, handling 1.2 million words since 2016 alone.
I now translate and proofread a wide range of material for publication. I have published
two Economics book translations by Heinrich von Stackelberg with the prestigious
academic publisher, Springer Verlag (2011, 2013) and in Politics, several chapters
in China’s Political System ed. Heilmann (Rowman & Littlefield: 2016).
What is my accountancy background?
I trained and worked as a financial accountant in London, auditing and preparing
annual reports for SME service companies and manufacturers. I continue to enjoy working
on financial texts.
